Elder Care Support Program

With the support of NACCHO, Ungooroo’s new Elder Care Support (ECS) program connects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and older people in our community with the care services and supports they are entitled to.

The ECS team supports older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families to help them understand, navigate and access local aged care services.

The team works to:

• Help older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to understand and engage with the aged care system to receive better local support
• Reduce barriers across the aged care journey to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing aged care services
• Increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people receiving care on Country.
